Holly, a ten year old girl and her six year brother, Dylan endured horrific misery from their father. They knew not the meaning of parental love since their mother died, which made Holly see it as her duty to protect her brother. Logan, their father was a drinkard, that apparently hated life. He got depressed after the loss of the love of his life, Heather. They were happily married for ten years, before she got burnt in a gory vehicle accident. Logan learnt of her death and never got over it. Every day, he'ld sit to drink just to forget his sorrows, but the grief never seemed to move. It was as a thick cloud that was ever with him wherever he went. And he'ld cry like a kid, whenever he remembers that Heather was no more. Holly seemed like a demon in human's body, making him so much grow hatred for her brother and her. He hated the sight of them and anyday he sees anyone of them, he'ld make life hell for such person. One morning, Logan had been out for work very ear

Claire got to office quite late as usual, and received smiles from everyone. She wondered why, but eventually forgot about it. She walked over to her cubicle, placed her bag on a small stool beside her table. And started the day's work. "Congrats Claire!" Kath greeted with a frown. Kath was Claire's best friend. They met for the first time at college. At that time, Kath was a freshman and always preferred to stay alone. Claire was the first classmate to talk to Kath which made them become friends. They never parted ways and they finally got to work in the same office. "Congrats for what?" Claire questioned. "I have been your best friend since a long time and you never told me anything about you getting married." Kath screamed and placed a newspaper on the table. "Married.... me..... how... when?" She took the newspaper, and checked it. She saw her image with a man she had never met in her life, Jeffery Tyler. Ring! Ring! Ring! Clair

You Know What the truth is?

This life on earth isn't what it seems. It is just an atom of what we think it is. It is even quite shorter than we may imagine. It is idyllic and tranquil, I know. But it is also sly and tricky. Just like the man that gained much profit from his farm. When he was ready to enjoy the fruit of his labour, he was called by life's not-so-friendly friend, death! We see it that five years is enough, therefore we plan for the next five years. Fine! It is good and necessary to plan for the future, but are we going to get to that five years successfully. How would you feel if after all the things you have enjoyed on earth, you finally get punished in the afterlife? Actually, there is an afterlife. How would you feel if no matter all the good things you've done in life, you turn to a firewood for that horrific place called hell? Things that do not matter can take you to hell. A little touching, a little viewing, things that don't make God happy. A little saying, a little actin

"My eyes are too old to search for Sadiu anymore." Sadiku stated. "Grandpa don't tell me you want me to search for your stupid robot. My father died because he was searching for that thing." Earvin angrily shouted. "Your father died because he was disobedient and not because of Sadiu." Sadiku said. "No grandpa, I'm not going to help you." Earvin stood up and ran to his room. Tacy, who had listened to all they were saying followed Earvin. She turned the door knob and fortunately it was not locked. "Earvin!" "Sister, I can't! Don't tell me about it." Earvin said furiously. "This is not my cute fearless brother." Tacy remarked. "But sister, father died in search of Sadiu." Earvin lamented. "No! He died because he never listened to anyone. He wanted to do everything on his own." "But sister, I don't want to search for Sadiu. He's too dangerous. And how can we know

Apiary of Danger

There was a chaotic din in town and every civilian had to stay at home. The city had been in commotion, for.... I don't know why. And everyone had to hide for safety... But I was far away from home. I walked out of the mall with my goods at hand. I galloped to my car, parked directly at the base of the giant front glass of the mall, holding four shopping plastics each in one hand. Suddenly I heard that some rioters were approaching and they were destroying vehicles and public buildings. Relying on the security men guarding the mall was no good option because of how lean they all appeared. Therefore I had to run. I started the engine and forgot to change the gear to reverse. I squeezed the accelarator and VROOM my car jacked forward and viola! The monsterous glass came crashing. Twarrn Twarrn Twarrn! The alarm went crazy. Immediately I zoomed to the gate with a reverse, making people get out of my way with screams of terror. I was flying with full speed on the smooth roads wh

Is Life Truly Vain?

You see, When we all gather bout the table to dine When we all joke  happily as one When we all sing the songs of joy to hosanna n we walk back to our beds. When we look at ourselves in the mirror n talk sense to our heads, so we can focus more on books When we feel down after checking the report sheet N papa says to us  "are you dullards? I was never a dullard like you!" Then we cry n cry n finally encourage ourselves. When we look  at his face n tell him "I love you darling" n soon we lie again to him "The money ain't enough!" in our minds we feel if it isn't done that way we won't get what we want. n finally When we rest and rest in peace In peace we rest indeed! After all the troubles in life The rest is ever sweet. So sweet we think of nothing again not poverty, not wealth, not struggle, not harvest; But in the tranquility of deep rest. Done all we can in this world Eating sand n drinking water All now in the past Till we meet the Lord one
