Realising and conflict~ 3



Tenny laid on the bed and stared at the ceiling. It was past midnight and sleep came not to her. Her eyes wandered around in fantasy of her new friend Gostoki. She had told him about her life and he listened keenly. It was almost a new day and they had planned to go to the stream together secretly. The stream was after the woods a little after the school. It was a silent place and free for anyone to stay.

Her wall clock tick tocked, tick tocked and she kept waiting and watching.

Rrrrrinnng! Her alarm screamed. It was six o clock in the morning. Yet she didn't sleep.

She jumped up to prepare to escape from the house.

Six, forty two am. She shut the gate silently and ran away.

Finally after everything, she could now leave. As she kept running on the she felt ecstatic. School gate was their set meeting place and that was where she was going.

Tenny remembered her mother, Goddess Natusha and she smiled. She felt fulfilled and thought that her mother would be so proud of her. She had not spoken to her mother about Gostoki, because she hardly dreamt of her mother and the world of light.

A few miles to school gate and she saw a car with so much speed. She noticed the driver was driving left and right, continuously and she could get hit, if she didn't run. She jumped out of the way. He was heading down so fast that in just few seconds, he'd get to her. That's when she realised the problem. The driver was having issues with the breaks. Her mind raced on what to do.

Tenny stood weakly by the road. The car had stopped moving. The driver found himself on the floor away from the car. He didn't understand what just happened. He only knew he was carried out of the car and the car was no longer moving. He stood up and walked to the car. The car was a bit away from him. He took a good look at the car. The bonnet was opened and every single wire was cut. He scratched his head and locked the door. He left his phone in the car and was trekking to a mechanic's workshop  dry far away.

Tenny sat down on the road. She felt so weak and was also wondering what happened. She remembered cutting wires forcefully by pulling them. But she was so confused. Another car passed by and offered to help the confused man get to the mechanic.

Tenny watched all these and eventually gathered the strength to continue her journey slowly. The driver could have crashed, but everything seems fine to her. She then finalised that she simply passed out.

Now at the school gate, she saw no one. Not Gostoki, not any other person. She leaned her back against the gate in disappointment. Gostoki promised to be there on time and he couldn't be found.

"How are you Tenny girl?" She practically froze.

She recognised the voice and turned back knowing it was Gostoki. He was talking from the school's compound through the gate.

"You scared me." Tenny said without smiling.

"I know I did." Gostoki replied.

"How did you get in there? It's locked.

Gostoki's eyes widened. He did not think of that question when he was appearing inside the building. His brain began to think very fast.

Tenny walked to the padlock and began to pull it, but, it did not open.

Gostoki smiled and spoke up. "Do not bother. I did not pass there. Wait for me."

He walked away and jumped over the fence.

Tenny saw him jump over and smiled.

Gostoki looked at her face when he got to her.

"You look stressed out. What's the matter?"

"Don't worry about me." She replied.

They left the place and headed for the stream.

They got to the woods finally and were still discussing when Gostoki stopped moving. Trees were all around. There was no sign of any human where they were.

"What happened? Why did you stop?"

Gostoki smiled at her.

"It is time!" He began to laugh.

"What's the time?" She asked jokingly. She raised his hand and looked at his wristwatch. It was empty, blank and timeless.

"What kind of wristwatch do you have here?"

Strong wind began to blow heavily.

Tenny left Gostoki and began to cover her eyes from the dust the wind brought.

"Why are you laughing?" She tried to stay calm. But her heartbeat rate began to increase.

Around her, every where was becoming dark. The wind pushed her down surprisingly. She managed to see Gostoki disappear slowly.

He finally vanished into the wind. The wind began to lift Tenny up. Soon she saw herself in another world. Every where was so dark, she could hardly see herself.

She eventually noticed a being in the room.

"Where am I? Who is there and where am I?"

She did not appear scared because of her nature.

She got angry and began to shout "who is there? And where am I? I have the power to destroy you?"

She began to hear the being laugh.

"Gostoki, is that you?"

Hahahahahahaha! The being kept laughing.

"I said, who is there?"

"Your Gostoki is gone." The place began to light up.

She could see the person's face.

"Have your seat." The being said to Tenny.

"I'm not here for that."

"You did not come here by yourself. I brought you here and I am Gostoki, the spirit in charge of the world of gloom."

"What!" She gasped.

"Did I surprise you? Ok, let me make you understand. I am the one you have been with." He smiled at her and walked to her back.

"You don't believe me? Turn around."

She turned her head and saw Gostoki charming.

Her jaw dropped in surprise. She began to feel her eyes go wet.

"Yes, I am Gostoki. Why did I do this?"

He began to laugh again.

"I want to break that heart of yours." He laughed evilly.

Light began to shine through her to Gostoki. She used a finger to wipe her tears in a way that it will not be noticeable.

"Why are you crying?" He touched her shoulder. "It happened to fast and you didn't detect."

She angrily pushed him down. "If you touch me again you... you..." she burst into crying. The light kept shining  from her.

 "No, don't cry dear."

"Who is your dear?" She shouted.

He began to transform back to his real self.

"Don't be too harsh. You are helping me." He rose up gently.

The light stopped shining from Tenny. She felt empty now.

"Thank you so much for giving me the chance to break your heart. I have gotten what I want. The power of light is... haha.... finally... hahaha... mine... hahahahahaha!" He stopped laughing.

"I don't want to believe I was so fooled." Tenny turned away from him.

"My dear, your might want to go home..." She turned back in anger.

"You are now a normal human being with no power at all...."

"You are now a nobody with no destiny. Hahaha! It was nice meeting you."

"Mother Natusha curses you!" She jumped up to attack him.
