Fight and flight~ 2

Exam time was close by and Tenny had been preparing since the beginning of the term. She was so ready, she didn't even have to read to pass excellently. That was the main reason her mummy still kept her. She was so intelligent and proactive and had brought so many prizes home. Madam Raty her step-mum, had always collected the prizes and kept them.

In the morning of a particular beautiful day. Tenny was in school. And just before the first class for the day, she sighted a Prince Charming approaching. He was ... oh so marvellously endowed with beauty. He had the trait everyone wanted, but nobody knew where he was from. He had just been brought to school and he was registered as a new student.

He got to Tenny and spoke up, knowing he had her attention.

"Hello, I am Gostoki. A new student here and you are?"

She saw charisma in him as he spoke. He was just so wonderful. Every other student that saw what just happened were surprised that Tenny knew of such a person and never told them anything.

"I... I am ... sweet mother! He is talking to me." What she said was totally inaudible.

She finally cleared her throat, looked away and spoke.

"I am Tenny."

"Nice to meet you Tenny." He brought out his right hand to shake her.

She looked at his face and brought her left hand. She was left-handed.

"Oh! You are left-handed." He dropped his hand and... a girl pulled him away. She was Tara, the bully in Tenny's class who had fought almost everyone and was victorious including Tenny. But, Tenny was the only person that always came back for another fight every new week.

Tenny's face turned red from fury. She looked at Tara taking Gostoki away and she ran after her. A push and Tara was on the floor face flat. Those watching around began to laugh. Tara jumped up and gave Tenny a punch in the face. A knockout for Tenny as she lost balance and landed on the floor.

In Tenny's mind, she knew she had a supernatural ability and she was determined to use it though she had no idea how to.

Up on her feet again, she chased them from behind and swiftly pulled Tara hair. She did not let go, as she started hitting and hitting. Tara tried turning and attacking back at the same time, but Tenny gave no room. A male teacher walked into the hall and was not surprised to see them fighting. The last fight that happened in the school was between this same set. The teacher ordered them to stop fighting, but as Tenny left Tara, Tara turned and started her own round. She boxed Tenny from so many sides, while Tenny was literally shielding herself with her hands and in the process returning some blows. A student ran to separate them and puff, a blow brought blood running from his nose. When the boy as big as he was began to cry out loud, everywhere became calm.

"Alright, I had ordered you to stop, but you both refused. I'll make sure you both leave this school."

"She started it." They both screamed at the same time.

"I didn't ask you to speak. Now come with me, both of you." The other boy was rushed to the clinic. Tenny looked around as they left and noticed Gostoki was not present.

On her mind, no other person, no other thing, but the one who she had seen. She had the intention of searching for him the next morning. She was suspended from school for two weeks and she didn't even care. She had read the term's work completely since three weeks after resumption, so her being suspended for that long didn't make her any remorse. She only wanted to meet Gostoki again. After school hours, Gostoki appeared and stayed at the school's gate. He knew she would come in search of him so he kept waiting.

He was monitoring her movement and when he noticed she was heading down to the school, he quickly became two personalities. One, the image of their PE teacher. While the other Gostoki charming. They both began to walk across the school walkway heading for the gate. They were discussing about sports and exercises just to create a realistic scenario to deceive Tenny.

Tenny entered through the gate and saw them. Joy grew in her heart. She almost jumped up in delight at the sight of Gostoki, she had thought he wouldn't be in school at that time. But for the PE teacher, she kept calm.

"Tenny, why are you coming to school at such an hour? It's against the school's rules for you to be in school while on suspension."

"Good afternoon sir. I just came to get something done." She flashed a smiled at Gostoki who returned it with a nod.

"You should better leave here quickly before any else sees you here."

"Alright. Thank you sir."

"You are welcome dear." He faced Gostoki and spoke up. "Gostoki, I think I have cleared your doubts right?"

"Yes, thank you so much sir."

"You are welcome dear. I should leave now. Tenny make sure you leave here in time. Alright?

"Yes sir!"

The teacher left them there and walked through the gate. When Tenny was not watching he vanished.

"How are you today Tenny?"

"Lovely, delighted, thank you. Can we continue from where we paused yesterday?"

"Oh yeah!" Gostoki grinned evilly and brought his left hand to shake Tenny's hand.

"Nice to meet you Tenny."

"Nice...e to meet you too Gostoki." She breathed out victoriously as she spoke.

They held hands and talked and walked and talked on and on till she had told Gostoki about almost all her life. The power she had could not be revealed she thought to herself as she kept talking. Eventually, she saw no reason to hide it from him. She was telling how she had so much intelligence to not be deceived by anyone. She told stories of times when she detected falsehood in what people were saying to her. Gostoki was laughing, not because she said the stories just to make him laugh at people's dullness in trying to deceive her, but because she was being deceived and she didn't know. Then finally she stopped.

A strange silence held on for some seconds that seemed as long as an hour.

Then she spoke. "Gostoki"

"Yes?"

"Do you remember that I told you about my mother's death. I didn't tell you what happened that night."

"Ok, I'm all ears."

"I had a dream. Do not tell it to anyone. In the dream..."
